Q: Squeezing the air out of a partially consumed soda bottle will keep the soda from going flat.
A: Fiction. Squeezing the air out of a soda bottle has the opposite effect; the pressure inside the bottle decreases, which results in the carbonation exiting the soda quicker; using a pump cap to pressurize the inside of the bottle would help keep the soda from going flat.
